Fly South 25: A night of music to kick off our Fall of celebration
Calder Allen and Channing Wilson to join us in the shop for a night of live music and fly fishing stories.
Fly South is turning 25, and we're marking the milestone with a full fall of events. We're kicking things off with an intimate night of live music on September 17th, from 6:00 to 8:00pm, right here in the shop.
Joining us are two of the most compelling songwriters working today.
Calder Allen is an Austin-based singer-songwriter and fifth-generation Texan with a fresh, cinematic take on Americana. Grandson of celebrated Texas artists Terry and Jo Harvey Allen, he grew up surrounded by creativity. He's also a devoted fly angler who once planned to guide for a living, and he still tours with a rod so he can slip off to the water between shows. He started writing during the 2020 shutdown, released his debut album The Game, and returns with his most personal record yet, Fault Lines. That angler's heart makes Fly South a fitting stage.
Channing Wilson is a Georgia-bred writer's writer whose songs have been recorded by Luke Combs, including the #1 hit "She Got the Best of Me," along with Tyler Farr and Jason Eady. Raised by hardworking parents in a small northwest Georgia town, he didn't pick up a guitar until 17, then grew into one of Nashville's most respected songwriters. He's shared stages with Steve Earle and Billy Joe Shaver, and a new Dave Cobb-produced album is on the way.
